The Cameron Escapade

I honestly didn’t expect this trip to happen at all.

Life has been so packed with work that the word “break” doesn’t even exist in my vocabulary anymore. It’s just been work, work, work. And yes… it’s bad. Really bad.

I used to think being a workaholic was something to be proud of. Like wow, so driven, so committed. Now I realise… it might just send me to my grave faster than I can even enjoy the next decade of my life. Sounds dramatic, but honestly, not too far from the truth.

We really do need to pause. To rest. To breathe. What has the world trained us to become?

What made this trip even more interesting was who I went with.

It was quite a funny setup actually. Going away with friends I barely knew. Sandra and I only had a two minute conversation at Jack’s birthday earlier this year. After that, just small chats here and there on the blog and MSN. Somehow we clicked.

Gary was the same. Met during a one day Malacca trip during CNY. Hung out a couple of times after that and… again, somehow we just clicked.

This whole trip was originally his idea. I was supposed to just tag along with him and his friends. At the last minute, his friends thought the trip was cancelled and bailed. Joker. And somehow I ended up organising the whole thing instead.

So it became just the three of us.

And the funny part? We realised this was the first time any of us had gone on a trip with people we were technically still acquaintances with.

But something about it felt easy.

I think sharing the same faith made a big difference. It felt like we had known each other for years.
No pressure to perform, no need to impress. Just… being.

The journey itself was beautiful.

Driving through the countryside, everything slowed down. And I realised how much I missed that. The outdoors. The quiet. The space.

Slow became the theme of the entire trip.

We spent two days just resting, breathing, enjoying the cool air, the scenery, and each other’s company. No forcing conversations, no trying to fill silence. Just a comfortable kind of presence.

It felt like time stretched. Like there were 48 hours in a day.

We slept a lot. Ate a lot. Did a whole lot of nothing. And it was… perfect.

The sky felt bluer. The greens looked greener. Everything just felt more alive.

It was like stepping into a framed moment where time paused for a while.

And then suddenly… it was over.

Even though it felt slow while we were there, it passed so quickly. Coming back to the usual pace felt almost jarring. Like I couldn’t quite catch up with the speed again.

And now… I’m craving it all over again.

I’m already looking forward to the next trip. Calendar marked. Counting down the days.

Alright, I’ve probably said too much already.

Go enjoy the photos.

Gary and I.. a quick one...we were walking down to the restaurants at Brinchang for dinner.
Sandra just said "pose" and snap! Lol...
I quite like this pic...it's blurry, thus giving it the Camerons' misty feel...at least I think so! =P

Sandra and I...lol...like, as if it were super cold! So it happens we both have hoodies! Roe, thanks, man... Your hoodie saved me from freezing... =P

Steamboat for dinner!!!!!! A must in cold weather!! Super syiok. The boss was so kind. He gave us an extra dish!

Sandra ... our chef for the night!! Hehe ...

I just like this pic of the 2 of you! Sweet...

Steamboat group pics! =P

This pic's background is superb. It looks like they've been cropped out of some picture and placed into this one.

Nite scene at the Camerons Hotel. 250USD/night. Some Porsche club was there occupying the whole hotel.
Sandra thought, 'There's where we are going to stay just because our place is called the Cameronian Inn...Lol...slight difference of name...' Major difference in the look and feel, man! haha...

First stop...lunch!! Food!! Ate at this place called Ferm Nyonya. Funny name...but the food was good!

Nice place for breakfast actually...but no idea why we didnt have breakfast there instead...*shrug*.

The Guest House we put a night at. Cameronian Inn. A really nice place to pair off. Oh well, not for me this time...
I should visit again someday and officially pair off... Lol...

And okay, I know I’m terrible at posting pictures. Bear with the mess. It really tests my patience. That’s why my blog is usually lacking in that department. =P
